My
journey
to
becoming
a
Wildlife
Biologist
Growing
up
in
a
small
town
in
the
midwestern
United
States,
I
always
had
a
love
and
appreciation
for
nature.
My
parents
often
took
my
siblings
and
I
camping,
hiking,
and
fishing
in
the
nearby
state
parks.
As
I
got
older,
I
became
more
interested
in
the
wildlife
that
inhabited
these
natural
areas.
In
high
school,
I
took
biology
and
environmental
science
classes
which
sparked
my
interest
in
pursuing
a
career
in
wildlife
conservation.
I
decided
to
attend
a
university
that
offered
a
degree
in
Wildlife
Biology.
As
a
freshman,
I
was
eager
to
dive
into
my
major
courses.
However,
I
soon
learned
that
the
rigorous
science
courses
required
for
my
degree
were
much
harder
than
I
anticipated.
I
struggled
through
classes
like
organic
chemistry
and
physics,
but
never
gave
up
on
my
dream
of
becoming
a
Wildlife
Biologist.
As
I
progressed
through
my
degree,
I
gained
hands-on
experience
through
internships
and
research
projects.
I
worked
with
a
variety
of
animals
including
birds,
reptiles,
and
mammals.
I
learned
various
techniques
for
capturing,
handling,
and
collecting
data
on
these
animals.
My
favorite
experience
was
working
with
river
otters
in
a
nearby
marsh.
I
helped
conduct
a
study
on
their
movements
and
habitat
use,
which
involved
monitoring
them
through
live-traps,
radio
collars,
and
trail
cameras.
Now,
as
a
recent
graduate,
I
am
excited
to
start
my
career
in
wildlife
conservation.
I
hope
to
work
for
a
government
agency
or
a
non-profit
organization
focused
on
protecting
and
conserving
wildlife
populations
and
their
habitats.
My
journey
may
have
been
challenging,
but
through
perseverance
and
dedication,
I
can
now
pursue
my
passion
for
